Kate Guts Psychotherapy: I am a private practice psychotherapist located in the Madison Park neighborhood in Seattle, WA.

When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched, you begin to discover that it’s bottomless, that it doesn’t have any resolution, that this heart is huge, vast, and limitless. You begin to discover how much warmth and gentleness is there, as well as how much space.

Welcome

I am a private practice psychotherapist who offers consultation, supervision, and compassionate therapeutic support to teens, adults, and couples. My office is located in the Madison Park neighborhood in Seattle, WA.

I operate from a trauma-informed and neurobiological lens thus, I take into consideration the way that your intersecting identities and personal history have contributed to the reactivity of your nervous system.

I engender personal growth and encourage new neuronal pathways to develop through somatically-centered healing, authentic reflection, exploration of life meaning, and relational attunement. Ideally, the therapeutic process will help you increase tolerance for challenging emotions and come to understand behavioral and relational patterns that may be impeding your growth and connection with others.

As a queer clinician, I specialize in serving those in the LGBTQIA+ community. I operate from an intersectional, anti-racist lens and work with clients of all races, sexual orientations, and gender identities/expressions. I also provide kink-friendly and sex positive counseling services to those in romantic and sexual partnerships including couples, triads/throuples, quads, and those engaged in ethical non-monogamy.

When supporting romantic and/or sexual partners, I use the interpersonal neurobiological approach to help foster connection while facing transitions, familial tension, sexual challenges, parenting, and crisis. I work with partners to help increase communication, develop boundaries, increase sexual intimacy, and deepen emotional expression.
